CASA just received an e-mail from the Witold Lutoslawski Society in Poland.
They have announced their International Composers’ Competition for 2007.

In summary:
1. The following types of compositions will be considered: string quartet, works for violin and piano, cello and piano, oboe and piano, clarinet and piano, voice and piano and piano duet (four hands and two pianos).
2. The text in a piece for voice and piano may be in any language. An English translation must be included.
3. The use of tape and live electronics will not be permitted.
4. The length of the work must be between 15 and 30 minutes.
Prizes
Three prizes will be awarded:
First Prize, 25 000 Zloty (ca. 6 250 Euro), sponsored by the Polish Ministry of Culture.
Second Prize, 10 000 Zloty (ca. 2 500 Euro).
Third Prize, 5 000 Zloty (ca. 1 250 Euro).
