Yes, a great read, an old problem that the recording industry has foisted upon itself. And like any cool drug, we can quit anytime, I'm sure...not!

Yet it does well to remember before we, like proper South Africans, throw our hands in the air and yell Armageddon, that there are also still plenty off awesomely mastered CD being released all the time, which sell copious amounts of copies too. Sure at the top of the pop parade you will finds tracks squeezed to within an inch of their lives, but lets not judge the world by it's lowest common denominator. There is a whole big music world just below it, brimming with fabulous dynamic ranges enough to put a pink-crinq in your ear.

Remember, if everything is loud, then everything is soft.
